Parents Cards

Hello,
The title of this post may be a little confusing but let me explain. Last week I had a couple of occasions, fathers day , my dogs second birthday and my mum's birthday.
The two cards here are what I made for them.

My first card is my mum's birthday card. Her favourite cards are measles so I made this one using a cute whimsy penguin image, coloured with spectrum noirs and Promarkers. I thought this one went perfectly.
I used Nitwit collections Cherish papers, matted on white. I die cut the border along the top, printed a sentiment and verse and added flowers, ribbon, lace and pearls.

Little dudes: Tech dude

Hello,
At the moment, this is my favourite fold of card. I'm not sure what it is called, but its my favourite!
For this card, I used one of the polka doodles little dudes, coloured with spectrum noirs.
I used papers from my 12x12 let's play paper pad, perfect for kids, and double matted on green and white.
I die cut stars and added those as embellishments and included one of the little dude sentiments.

I'd like to enter this into:
I think this is one of my favourites because compared to my usual fussy and fancy style, I can make this quite simple and only use two papers rather than four or five. Plus I think it highlights the image nicely.
